SAVING ENERGY IN TEXAS SCHOOLS

Celebrating Your Success

The end of the school year in with a rush of tests and locker clean-outs, but we need to remember to praise those teachers who have faithfully been conserving energy and the ones that learned something along the way.

Depending on your school, you may want to have a school wide assembly, an after school event or just an award ceremony in your classroom. If you are hosting a school wide affair, your Watt Watchers may want to re-write the skit they performed at the kick off program to fit how the year went.

We have many awards you can give out, all of which are summarized below. To order the certificates please contact Watt Watchers at 1-888-USWATTS or 1-888-WATTEAM.

Certificate of Achievement

This certificate is given to every student that participated in the Watt Watchers of Texas program. To thank them to the service they provided to the school, community and planet! You may also want to give each student a Watt Watcher pencil or sticker. These certificates must be ordered from our office.

Zero Hero Award

The Zero Hero award goes to the classroom that remembered to turn out their lights more than any other. Remember that on the patrol record form, the students mark a zero if the lights are off in a classroom. Depending on the size of your school, you may want to have the Top Ten Zero Hero's List and give the number one classroom an extra prize- Watt Watcher pencils, Watt Watcher posters, or a book on energy conservation for their classroom.

Most Improved Watt Watcher

The classroom that made the most improvement deserves to be recognized as well. These students (and teachers) learned the most this year. Prizes for these students could also include Watt Watcher stickers or pencils.

Sponsor Service Awards

Watt Watchers of Texas established the sponsor service award program to recognize these unsung heroes. After being a Watt Watcher Sponsor you will have saved thousands of dollars for your school district. You will have prevented tons of pollution from entering our atmosphere. And, you will have educated dozens of students about caring for their world. Not to mention changing the habits and attitudes of fellow teachers and administrators. Those are heroic actions. We award teachers these awards at 5 years of service and 10 years of service.
